EP 105 CRAWFORD NEIGHBORHOOD 8/28

Hello and welcome.  We're glad you'll be joining us.  In the following post you will find descriptions  to help you with your choices of what to bring tomorrow, THURSDAY 8/28.

We expect you to read this everyday before coming to work, even if you've worked with us previously.  There will be information specific to every day.  This could vary day to day, depending on the story.  Thank you!

-Please, be on time.

-Always come dressed in your first, best choice of the descriptions for your character.   After reading the character descriptions that you will find here, make your best pick and wear it in.  However, you will ALWAYS be expected to bring options with you so that we can make the final choices.

ABOUT SECRETS & LIES

THIS STORY TAKES PLACE IN THE WINTER, LEADING UP TO CHRISTMAS.
We are playing a warm, Southern Winter.  We are going to dress you as you would dress for the fall.

Light layering will be the key to making this work look.

THE COLOR PALETTE FOR THE SHOW IS ONE OF COOL AND DARK TONES.
See the color charts below for the muted colors that work for our show.  Also, check the white chart for alternatives to bright white.

Do not bring us all black or grey clothing, please.  Too much black simply becomes a hole in the screen.

On THURSDAY 8/28, the Background will be in TWO SCREEN DAYS for EP 105. Please bring enough options to pull for multiple days.

The NEWS CREWS will also be in some general establishing shots.  There is a special note about that just below.  Please bring things from the regular color palette and read the note below about the specifics for the establishing shots and additional clothing.

We could shoot rain or shine....so everyone should bring a solid, dark colored umbrella, if you have it. Black, navy, grey, dark green, burgundy, etc.  A two-toned golf umbrella would probably also be OK, too.  Also, make sure that one of your light weight jackets is a rain slicker/jacket of some kind, in the color palette.

****SPECIAL NOTE****
On Thursday 8/28, The NEWS CREWS will be used in several establishing neighborhood shots that do not match anything in particular.

These will be shot at night.  The clothing choices for these should be the same kinds of things that you wear for your character,  but should be mostly grey, navy, dark green, brown, tan.

These colors will not draw our eye and will help these scenes fit easily where ever they are put.
Subtle pattern and texture is still a good thing.
We still want the layers with jackets and vests and sweater.

There is the possibility that there could be rain for some of these, so bring your dark umbrellas and your rain coats / trench coats that work in the color palette

See the color charts below for the muted colors that work for our show.  Also, check the white chart for alternatives to bright white.

On MONDAY 8/18, the Background will be in 2 SCREEN DAYS.  Please bring enough options so that we can choose multiple outfits.    You are not matching anything on Monday, 8/18.

CRAWFORD NEIGHBORHOOD 8/14

Hello and welcome.  We're glad you'll be joining us.  In the following post you will find descriptions  to help you with your choices of what to bring tomorrow, Thursday, 8/14.

Just a couple of housekeeping items to begin with......

-Please, be on time.  You will be checked in by the AD Department and fill out paperwork before we can look at you.  If you are late then the Costume Department does not get as much time to make sure you look great.  You are gonna be on TV after all..... just sayin'   :-)

-Always come dressed in your first, best choice of the descriptions for your character.   After reading the character descriptions that you will find here, make your best pick and wear it in.  However, you will ALWAYS be expected to bring options with you so that we can make the final choices.  The final choices will be made by the Costume Dept.  Please respect that we have the overview of the day and the show, and do not complain about what we ask you to wear.

-Most every day will encompass multiple shooting days.  You will need to have enough options with you to allow us to pull several different changes from your clothing.  You will find the number of days to prepare for with the descriptions.

ABOUT SECRETS & LIES

THIS STORY TAKES PLACE IN THE WINTER, LEADING UP TO CHRISTMAS.  In the current episode we are playing a warm, Southern Winter.  We are going to dress you as you would dress for the fall.

Light layering will be the key to making this work look.  It is what we're doing with the principle actors, and as you know, what they do you do.

THE COLOR PALETTE FOR THE SHOW IS ONE OF COOL AND DARK TONES.
There will not be a lot of bright color in this show, except in certain instances which we will inform you about.

The following color chart is a good indication of the tone of the show and general colors.  As you can see there is nothing too bright or bold.  You do not need to "match" these colors exactly, just use this as a guide for tone, brightness, etc.

Do not bring us all black or grey clothing, please.  Much of our show is shot in the daylight hours.  Too much black tends to feel like the evening, and it is harder to distinguish detail with black, so it simply becomes a hole in the screen.

We would like to stay away from anything that is pure or bright white.  This includes dress shirts, blouses, tees, socks, etc.  We are reserving true white for our principle actors.  Please see the above color chart for acceptable "white."

On Thursday, 8/14 the Background will be in 3 SCREEN DAYS.  Please bring enough options so that we can choose multiple outfits.

If you worked last Wednesday, 8/6 check the photos below for what to bring for your D1 and D4 change since it is a match.  We will still need enough for another outfit in addition to these.

NICOLE'S HOUSE 8/13

Greetings everyone.  Following you will find the information that you need to make your costume choices for your work on Wednesday, 8/13

Here are a couple of very important things to remember when working with us.......

-Please, be on time.  You will be checked in by the AD Department and fill out paperwork before we can look at you.  If you are late then the Costume Department does not get as much time to make sure you look great.  You are gonna be on TV after all..... just sayin'   :-)

ABOUT SECRETS & LIES

THIS STORY TAKES PLACE IN THE WINTER, LEADING UP TO CHRISTMAS.
We are playing this as a warm, Southern Winter.
You will generally be dressing more like you would dress for the fall.

Light layering will be the key to making this work look.  It is what we're doing with the principle actors, and as you know, what they do, you do too.

THE COLOR PALETTE FOR THE SHOW IS ONE OF COOL AND DARK TONES.

Too much black tends to feel like the evening, and it is harder to distinguish detail with black, so it can just look like a hole in the screen.

The reds shown in the color charts are dull, brick color, brown reds and burgundy.  Bright red will be reserved for one character in our show, so any true red articles can be left at home.

We would like to stay away from anything that is pure or bright white.  This includes dress shirts, blouses, tees, socks, etc.  We are reserving true white for our principle actors.  See the "whites" on the color chart below.
